How to make an appointment for your visa application?

The Consulate General in Pretoria is responsible for the Belgian consular affairs in the following provinces: Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North-West, Free State, Kwazulu Natal. And following countries: Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique.

The Consulate General in Cape Town has jurisdiction over the North-,  Eastern-, and Western Cape. This office is equally responsible for consular matters in Namibia.

  • Visa applicants residing in South-Africa: please refer to the new information on the general page 'Visa for Belgium'
  • All visa applicants residing in Botswana need to apply in person at TLS (please refer to the general page 'Visa for Belgium').
  • Short stay visa applicants residing in Zimbabwe can apply in person at the French Embassy in Harare, long stay applicants need to apply in person at TLS (please refer to the general page 'Visa for Belgium').
  • Short stay visa applicants residing in Mozambique can apply in person at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Maputo, long stay applicants need to apply in person at TLS (please refer to the general page 'Visa for Belgium').


Appointment system for visa

For all visa applications, an appointment is mandatory.

These appointments must be scheduled using the website of TLS

Appointments for long term visa applications to be lodged in the Consulate in Cape Town can be scheduled on this link

Appointments must be made at least 15 working days before departure.

Visa handling time: 5-10 working days, provided that visa file is complete.

For Pretoria: Information about visa in process can be obtained by sending an e-mail to pretoria.visa@diplobel.fed.be stating the n° of the visa application, name and surname and a telephone number where the requested information can be given or by telephonic enquiry daily between 13.30-15.30 ONLY, at 012 440 32 01.
